A recommendation was issued in the “Official Journal of the Republic of Serbia“ issue no. 11/2021 instructing employers to enable employees who haven’t used up their entire holiday entitlement for 2020 out of consideration of the job requirements in the extraordinary circumstances caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, due to temporary inability to work as a result of the Coronavirus disease 2019, or because of orders to isolate/self-isolate received according to law, to use all of their holiday entitlement during 2021, or to take the first part consisting of at least two working weeks on end up to 31st December 2021, and the remaining portion before 30th June 2022.
Furthermore, employers are encouraged to allow employees who didn’t have the chance to take a part of their 2019 annual leave by the end of the current year as set out in Point 1 of the Conclusion of the Serbian Government 05 no. 53-3041/2020 of 6th April 2020 to use that part of their holiday until 30th June 2021, before they use their holiday entitlement for 2020.
